MicroArt Studio Resin Bases

Thought I'd put up some pictures of the MicroArt Studio bases that my friend acquired for me at Salute. They are very crisp and I'm looking forward to painting them.

I have three chariot sized models To fit on the 50mm x 100mm chariot base, a Gentleman's Coach, an Omnibus and a Black Moriah.

I have bought 2 packs of the 30mm Cobblestone, 1 pack of the Mosiac and 2 packs of the Arcane bases to add to the existing Cobblestone bases from Westwind.

Pulp Terrain Project

For the last ten years my brother has been heavily involved in his cars, he owns a couple of Mopars, recently however I have reignited his passion for Gaming with the Pulp Alley rules. He regularly ran Cthulhu RPG sessions and enjoys the work of H. P. Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard.

I got talking him to him about the genre as several of the local war games club members had been championing the cause. I discussed with him some ideas for creating a new pulp Wargaming table, a 4' x 4' playing area. A couple days later I received an email, followed by a. Trawl of text messages as he had gone and designed a new board, incorporating sewers. What follows is the journey he and I, his able assistant, are undertaking.

The base boards are made from 6mm MDF, with the sides being 18mm MDF.The height of the boards is 2". This is a British project so be advised measurements will come in both Imperial and Metric.

The plan is to countersink magnets to the top and sides of the boards. This way they should lock together reducing the gaps which appear on the gaming surface. The other cool thing is that the top boards will have magnets so that terrain tiles will be interchangeable, thus being able to create different locations.

In the Beginning

This site will be dedicated to all things related to Empire of the Dead. A Steampunk horror/fantasy skirmish game from Westwind Productions. In time I will be adding more 'stuff' to the site. The name for the site is based on an actual club which exists in London.

The Savage Club was founded in 1857 and remains one of the leading Bohemian Gentleman's Clubs in London. Clubs elsewhere have borrowed both the name and the style, which continues to be the 'pursuit of happiness' - a quest made infinitely more agreeable by the fellowship of members who are known to each other by the sobriquet "Brother Savage"
(Taken without permission from the front page of the Savage Club's website)

I will try to update regularly but with as with all things related to real life this can be quite a challenge. I have created several pages in addition to the blog frontpage. You'll be able to find a modelling page. This section will contain all things relating to creating  a suitable gaming world for EMotD. As well as featuring my painting efforts I will put up info relating to any terrain building projects.

The Casebook is an opportunity for me to indulge in some fictional writing. I may well use this on a wider scale in the future for developing scenarios for skirmish games.

Finally there is the  Skirmish Reports section. In here you'll be able to find AAR's relating to games played at my local club. Well that's a brief synopsis of my intentions for this site. In the meantime I am awaiting for the Empire of the Dead: Requiem to arrive at my door in June. Until then I will be reading the rules and buying some 'jolly good fellows' when I head to Salute 2013 later next month.
