Casebook

Monday March 11th 1888

I have finally arrived here in London. It was a rather dull journey down from Durham. My lodgings having been organised ahead of my departure, are still not quite ready. However, my landlady, Mrs. Whitelock has assured me that I will be able to take up residence tomorrow. A minor inconvenience. In the meantime I will allow myself a night of luxury at The Grosvenor hotel. I must admit I have never seen so much traffic in all my years! London is truly a city of the future.
